I am delighted to inform RareMetalBlog readers that Don Ranta, Chairman and Director of Rare Element Resources Ltd. (TSX: RES | NYSE AMEX: REE) and Peter Cashin, President and CEO of Quest Rare Minerals Ltd. (TSX: QRM | NYSE AMEX: QRM) have accepted appointments as Advisory Board members of REE World. Along those lines, I received an email from Alex Wang contact person for the 2nd International Rare Earth Industry Summit 2012 to be held in Xiamen, China between May 23 and 25 letting me about know about the upcoming conference. If you’re thinking what I’m thinking…
This is an ideal opportunity to meet members of the China Rare Earth Industry Association (CREIA) ask them about my Private Letter to Gan Yong, the organization’s President and about the opportunities that we could create as a merged entity with them joining REE World and RareMetalBlog. The conference agenda notes that Ms. Wang Caifeng, Senior Engineer Associate Chairman of CREIA is scheduled to speak on the second day of the conference and perhaps other CREIA members also will be in the audience. Specifically Ms. Caifeng will speak on the topic of New Opportunities for the Development of China’s Rare Earth Industry. She will address the new situation and new tasks the China Rare Earth Industry Association faces in 2012 after resource integration and industry consolidation. She will also speak about how the establishment of the China Rare Earth Industry Association promotes the healthy development of China’s rare earth industry.
Also of note is that Mark Smith, CEO of Molycorp Inc. (NYSE: MCP) is also slated to speak at the conference on the topic of Supply and Demand in the Rare Earth Market in 2012. Other timely and hot rare earth topics that will be presented include:
- The influence of the launch of the rare earth special invoice on the rare earth industry and rationalization proposal
- Analysis on China’s rare earth supply and demand situation and markets trends in 2012
- Domestic and overseas market outlook for permanent magnet materials in 2012
- Demand for rare earths in India’s downstream magnet market
- Latest developments of the Bautou rare earth product exchange and its influence on the rare earth market
- China’s rare earth export markets and export policy from an international perspective
This will undoubtedly give me an opportunity to blog onsite…if I go. Checking out fares as we speak…
